LARRY
F. RUSSELL
Larry Russell has represented community associations throughout
California for over fifteen years. He
advises directors of community interest developments in all aspects of Community
Association law, rule enforcement, interpretation of governing documents and has
successfully resolved numerous construction defect cases, recovering over
$80,000,000.00 on behalf of his clients.
Mr. Russell received his Juris Doctor in 1986 from Santa Clara
University. He is a past member of
the Inns of Court, and a current member of the County Bar Associations of Contra
Costa and Alameda. He is an active
member in the California Association of Community Managers (CACM), Community
Associations Institute (CAI), and Executive Council of Homeowners (ECHO).
Mr. Russell has written articles and lectured on topics relating to the
operation of community association, issues pertaining to construction defects
and how to protect the association’s interest in major reconstruction and
maintenance projects. He has
advised boards of directors during all stages of planning and implementation of
major construction projects.
Mr. Russell spent eight years with Fluor Engineers & Constructors
working on major construction projects around the world. He has prepared and negotiated contracts for multi-million dollar
petrochemical projects, and worked with the International Convention of Building
Official (ICBO) to include provisions in the Uniform Building Code (UBC) that
protect the needs of Community Associations.
